Description
The U.S. Army, ARDEC at Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. is conducting a market survey to identify sources that are knowledgeable with facilities and test equipment to improve the current MCS long term reliability as described in Microclimate Condition System Assembly drawing no. 12553830 and MCS pack requirement per DTL12553830 with a minimum modification to the MCS pack and enclosure. The contractor shall meet the 6 to 9 months delivery schedule from the contract awarded. DRS KECO Industrial Inc. is the current supplier on the MCS pack, and they have been found to be technically competent to design, manufacture and test the subject items based on their expertise and representations. The Paladin MCS is a special device for Nuclear, Biological and Chemical (NBC)protection which provide conditioned ambient air in various modes as selected by the vehicle crewman. The MCS components shall be incorporated in a package (MCS pack), which will be mounted in a sealed ballistic enclosure. The following are the identified items that must be delivered by the contractor: 1. Vane Axial Fan, 2. R134a compressor to replace the current R12,compressor, 3. Low pressure cut off switch, 4. Baseline, component, assembly, and system level tests for new components, 5. Engineering Change proposal (ECP) and new MCS drawings. The contractor optional delivery items are a New relay panel, and the approved recommendation components from the trade of study/new design to improve reliability, system performance, cost reduction and etc. required a minimum modification to the MCS pack and enclosure and meet the MCS pack requirement as specify per DTL12553830. Only one contract will be awarded.
