Description
This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR P 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The office of NOAA, Office of Response & Restoration located in Seattle, WA intends to negotiate a sole source contract with the Tribal Government of St. Paul. The intended acquisition is for service for which the Government intend to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 234 (c) (1), only one responsible source. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration?s (NOAA) National Ocean Service (NOS) through its Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) Pribilof Environmental Restoration Project Office (PPO) is responsible for site restoration activities on the islands of St. Paul and St. George in Alaska. The U.S. Government through the U.S. Department of Commerce and NOAA or its predecessor agencies managed the Pribilof Islands for its fur seal fisheries following the purchase of Alaska from Russia beginning in 1867. Collectively, these islands are part of a five-island archipelago known as the Pribilof Islands. The islands are located in the Bering Sea more than 800 air miles from Anchorage, Alaska and more than 200 miles northerly from Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Island chain. The islands of St. Paul and St. George are the only permanently inhabited islands in the archipelago This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000 ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR).
