- Description
- This is a solicitation notice for a proposed sealed bid construction contract for the construction to include all labor, materials, tools and equipment necessary to prepare an exterior site for a new mobile MRI (purchased separately from this proposed construction project). The project location is the primary campus, 500 W. Fort Street, Boise, Idaho 83702. Site preparation includes new utilities including plumbing, electrical, and communications, and a structural concrete support pad. Further, work includes the construction of an interconnecting raised corridor, and interior modifications including approximately 1500 square feet of hospital space. The connecting corridor will connect the mobile MRI trailer to an existing campus building on the first level to allow for covered travel to-and-from the building to the mobile MRI trailer. All work shall be completed in strict accordance with the contract specification and drawings. All construction and work practices shall be performed in accordance with OSHA and EPA requirements. Contractors and subcontractors are required to comply with hospital Infection Control Requirements. There will be a pre-bid site inspection of locations on or about June 11, 2007, the official time and date will be announced in the solicitation package. The construction cost range is between $250,000.00 to $500,000.00. The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center anticipates a firm-fixed price contract. The procurement is set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business that are registered in Vet Biz Ops. The NAICS for the procurement is 236220. The small business size standard is $28.5 ml. The Government will not pay nor reimburse any costs associated with responding to the solicitation. The Government will not be obligated to issue a contract for the aforementioned work, and is providing this as information only. As authorized in FAR 5.103 (a), (7), solicitation dissemination is limited to electronic medium; the VA will provide no hard copies. The solicitation, consisting of various bid documents, specifications, forms and drawing will be available for download at no charge through http://fedbizopps.gov/ on or about June 1, 2007. All prospective bidders are advised that they are responsible for obtaining all bid documents and any amendments, and should re-visit the website periodically to look for updates. Further details and events are available in the solicitations. All questions are required to be in writing to the Contracting Officer; no telephone inquiries can be accepted. Award is subject to availability of funds.
