- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to negotiate a one-time, sole-source, firm-fixed price contract with Skarie, Inc., (707 North Howard Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201), for one (1) MultiCam 1000 Series Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Router and five (5) days of on-site training at the FBI Academy Complex, Quantico, VA. The MultiCam controller is a stand alone board system based on AMD SC520 Microprocessor. It uses 64-bit motion profile algorithms using FPGA technology making it excellent for high speed continuous motion. The controller has a 5,000 vector/second sustained calculation and execution rate with 1,000 line look ahead capacity. Enroute 3 Pro Software is included with the MultiCam 1000 Series Router. Enroute will create 3D files from 2D drawings, including drawings from Adobe Illustrator and AutoCAD. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. Based on extensive market research by knowledgeable individuals in the Government and the related industry, only Skarie can provide the requested equipment. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This notification is for informational purposes only. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. All responsible sources may submit a quote no later than 1:00 PM, EST, May 23, 2007, via facsimile to the attention of Mr. Bryan V. Lane, Contracting Officer at (703) 632-8074 or by e-mail at Bryan.Lane@ic.fbi.gov. Due to security concerns, hand-carried offers will not be accepted. All offers shall clearly be marked RFQ-LDQ000433. Bidders are hereby notified that if your quote is not received by the date, time, and location specified in this announcement, it will not be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government will not pay for any information received. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. The provision at 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors - Commercial Items (SEP 2006); 52.212-4, Contract Terms and Conditions - Commercial Items (FEB 2007); and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders - Commercial Items (MAR 2007) apply to this acquisition.
