Description
Department of Labor has a need to implement energy saving improvements at the Potomac Job Corps Center. A more detailed description of the work will be found in Part V - "Extent of Work" in the center's Request For Proposal (RFP). Construction requirements will be in accordance with the following codes: 1. The Contractor will conform all applicable state and local codes, ordinances, and regulations including the national building code commonly used in the area. 2. All conflicts and request for interpretation or clarification shall be submitted to the Potomac Job Corps Center. 3. All work shall conform to the current regulations of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) (40 CFR 716), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) (29 CFR 1926). The regulations of the District of Columbia shall prevail if they are more stringent that those of the Federal Government. Assume any unlabeled fluorescent light ballast contains PCB oil. Remove and dispose of PBC Ballasts in accordance with 40 CFR 761. 4. Contractor shall not submit plans or specifications to any local authority without the prior approval of the Potomac Job Corps Center Director or designated representative. Specific Requirements: l. Prior to submitting a bid, the prospective bidder must visit the site and become thoroughly familiar with all pertinent conditions that are included in the Scope of Work. 2. A MANDATORY PRE-BID WALK-THROUGH will be conducted at the project site with all interested contractors on May 25, 2007. At this time, questions related to the areas of work can be presented and discussed with the center. Other opportnities may be available for contractors to visit the site by making arrangements with the center at least 24 hours in advance. Bid closing date is June 15, 2007. Job Corps is a national training and employment program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor.
