- Description
- Requesting information on your ability to produce a (Berry Amendment Compliant) seamless weld wire in accordance with AWS A5.29 and test it in accordance with the requirements imposed by NAVSEA via our procedure qualification(9074 PMS378/twm Ser 06-943 dated 6 July 06). The wire is purcased as E81T1-G under the requirements of American Welding Society Standards AWS A5.29 to as tested under AWS A5.01 Schedule J testing with additional requirements including: - Require AWS conformance certs for each lot of wire purchased. - Require Charpy results meet 30 ft-lbs @-20 degrees fahrenheit, and recording of data on conformance certs - Maximum yield shall not exceed 90 ksi when tested to standard AWS heat in put of 35-55 kj/inch - Maximum carbon content shall not exceed 0.08% - Maximum diffusible hydrogen shall meet H4 requirements - 1.2 mm width Northrop Grumman will also perform in-house checks onthe first 5 production lots purchased to include: - High and low heat input bracketed testing (first purchased lot only) - Standard AWS A5.29 mechanical testing (remaining 4 lots) - Chemical analysis - Diffusible hydrogen testing NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (16-MAY-2007); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
