Description
The intent of this contract is to secure services to obtain cones from conifers, including, but not limited to rust-resistant sugar pine (RRSP), ponderosa pine, Jeffrey pine, Douglas-fir, and incense cedar. The RRSP trees to be climbed under this contract are high value, proven rust-resistant trees. The contractor will be required to use non-intrusive climbing techniques to complete the services and shall not damage the trees in any way. The project is for climbing and collecting cones from selected trees on various National Forests in California. This contract will be an indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery. Individual task orders will then be placed with consideration given to all awardees for the location and type of work, on an individual order basis, it may be in the form of pricing quotation, or the other relative experience, size of project (capability), location, or urgency. Consideration need not be limited to price. Task orders will be issued on a firm fixed price basis. The Government?s minimum guarantee under this contract will be $2,000.00. We may award up to four contracts. More detailed information will be provided when a request for quote is issued for a task order. Forest maps can be obtained from the individual forests through their websites. Access to these websites can be obtained thru the Washington Office website (www.fs.fed.us). Detailed maps and motorlogs for some tree locations may be provided at the start of the project. The bid schedule line items will be for the purpose of determining the contractor?s for award purposes only. The quantities listed will be estimates only. All task orders will be negotiated using a Statement of Work (SOW) specifying the work needed for a particular task order. Estimated starting date is August 1, 2007.
