- Description
- The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) plans to award a sole source purchase order to the National Association of Regional Councils (NARC) to conduct workshops and outreach on integrating transportation and air quality planning. The workshops would improve regional council?s knowledge about integrating transportation and air quality planning. This work addresses challenges of ensuring mobility, safety, and accessibility while reducing air and water pollution resulting from motor vehicles. FHWA support of the workshops would assist them in building the capacity of regional councils of governments to integrate transportation planning with air quality planning (NAAQS). FHWA is on entities having roles and responsibilities in meeting the NAAQS. NARC is in a unique position to provide information to regional councils, which have limited expertise with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards. No other known source can provide the required services. This is a Simplified Acquisition and the award date is on or about May 22, 2007.
