- The Government intends to pursue a three-year extension of Contract DAAB15-99-D-0014 with Comtech Mobile DataCom Corporation (CMDC),20430 Century Blvd, Germantown, MD 20874 as a sole source action. This action is considered sole source due to the pro prietary nature of critical system applications and the requirement for compatibility with existing software. The estimated dollar value of the proposed contract extension is $646.3M. The contract provides for equipment and services for the Movement Tracki ng System (MTS) program that is currently fielded worldwide. These equipment and services provide a two-way data communication and Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) based geo-location between handheld units, mobile units mounted in vehicles and computer based control stations which send and receive data as well as display other users GPS location. Equipment to be purchased includes the CMDC MT-2011 Transceiver and associated installation kits, as well as satellite hub equipment and airtime. Anticipated d ate of modification execution is 15 June 2007. As this is a proposed modification to an existing contract, a formal solicitation package does not exist. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit an d negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, a ll proposals received within thirty days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the d iscretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
