- Description
- The intent of this project is to implement energy saving improvements throughout the Center. CONSERVATION MEASURES: I. LIGHTING - Upgrade existing fluorescent T12 lamp fixtures with energy-efficient T8 lamps and electronic ballasts; replace incandescent lamps with equivalent compact fluorescent lamps; and replace existing incandescent exit signs with LED exit signs with self-contained batteries. II. OCCUPANCY SENSORS - Install passive infrared motion sensors in designated areas. III. HVAC CONTROLS - Develop an operating program that optimizes occupant comfort and energy efficiency, including programmable thermostats with remote monitoring located in supervisor's office. IV. WATER CONSERVATION - Provide water-conserving "low flow" plumbing fixtures, including Water Closets (1.6 gpf), Urinals (1.0 gpf), Waterless Urinals, Faucet Aerators (0.5 gpm), and Shower Heads (5.0 gpm). A pre-bid meeting and walk-through will be conducted at the project site with all interested contractors prior to the bid opening date. At that time, questions related to the areas of work can be presented and discussed.
