- This notice is being publicized in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101 requiring Contracting Officers to disseminate information for proposed contract actions expected to exceed $25,000. Further in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 it is the intent of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to make award to the TriMech Manufacturing. The Office of Investigative Technology requires the procurement of a one Dimension SST 1200 3D Printer and all ancillary equipment and associated services. The unique specifications and qualifications of this vendor and its product are required by the DEA. Based on the patented Stratasys FDM process, Dimension builds functional 3D models from the bottom up, one layer at a time with a tough, durable acrylnitrile butadene styrene (ABS) plastic. ABS parts can be sanded, milled, drilled, tapped, painted, and electro-plated. Our investigation has found no other vendor that can satisfy the requirement. As a result it has been determined that TriMech Solutions is the only responsible source to provide the necessary equipment. It is the sole reseller of the Dimension 3D Printer for Virginia.
