Description
SYNOPSIS Center Hill Seepage Remediation Left Rim and Main Dam Embankment Grouting The US Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District plans to solicit offers under solicitation W912P5-07-R-0004 for installation of a grout curtain system and a solution channel (cave) barrier at Center Hill Dam. Center Hill Dam is located in DeKalb County , Tennessee about 50 miles east of Nashville on the Caney Fork River. The main components of work are (1) Installation of an 800-foot long grout curtain into the rock foundation of the main dam embankment, (2) Construction of a work surface near the crest of the earthen embankment to accomplish the embankment grouting, (3) Installation of an approximate 3,500-foot grout curtain into the rock foundation of the left rim of the dam, and (4) plugging a section of cave that lies beneath the grout line alignment on the left rim and treating the area with grout. Maximum depth of grouting is approximately 400 feet. The contract requires an automated grouting control system to record, display and control the grouting operations. Total estimated grout quantity is estimated at 550,000 cubic yards. A Request for Proposal is expected to be issued about June 11, 2007. The project cost is expected to be in the range of 50 to 100 million dollars. The Nashville District will evaluate offers to determine the best value using the following criteria: (1) T echnical competency of the proposal, (2) Previous similar experience, and (3) Past performance. The anticipated contract period is 2 years. The anticipated award will be in September 2007. A notice to proceed will be given in the first quarter of fiscal year 2008. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this work is 237990, Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction, with a small business size standard of $31 million. Interested companies should be able to verify they can meet the 1 00 percent bonding requirement for performance and payment bonds and be registered in CCR with representations and certifications available through ORCA.
