Description
The US Army Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command Acquisition Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 on behalf of the Office of PM Crew Served Weapons has a requirement for a handheld Advanced Weather Station (AWS) which can monitor and log local atmospheric conditions and provide measurements on a digital display in real time. The Weather station shall measure wind speed, barometric pressure, density altitude, altitude, temperature,and relative humidity. The device will augment ballistic calculations for sniper missions requiring medium and long range target engagement. Maintenance/instruction manuals shall also be provided with the AWS. All requirements of the AWS must be met as specified in the Statementof Work (SOW). As part of the basic quantity, the Contractor shall integrate, test, inspect and deliver fifteen (15) each of the AWS that meet the Statement of Work???s requirements within 30 days after contract award. A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract with four options/ordering periods with an anticipated maximum quantity of 1,300 each (for a total of 5,200) will be used for this acquisitions. The Contractor shall be able to produce a minimum of one hundred (100) per month. DRAFT SOLICITATION W15QKN-07-R-0416 consists of a Statement of Work. Other sections, Exhibits and Attachments are still in the development stage and are not available for release with this DRAFT Solicitation. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. The purpose of this DRAFT Solicitation issuance is to obtain information through open communications with industry, thereby assisting in improving its RFP as to purpose, content, clarity, correctness, and completeness from the industry prospective. The Government encourages all interested vendors to submit any comments that they may have. As part of their response to this DRAFT Solicitation, companies are asked to return the enclosed Vendor Questionnaire Form. All responses to this notice or the DRAFT Solicitation shall be in writing (English Language) and SUBMITTED NO LATER THAN 14 MAY 2007. The POC for this action is Corey Woodson, Contract Specialist, Joint Munitions and Lethality Acquisition Center, AMSML-AQ-SW, Building 9, Picatinny Arsenal, N.J. 07806-5000. The present schedule is to release a final competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) on / about June 11, 2007. The above date is only an estimate. This will be issued under the W15QKN-07-R-0416 solicitation number. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted.
