- Fort Lee continues to take steps to ensure the safety and security of our personnel, vendors, suppliers, contractors, sub contractors, service providers, and visitors on the installation. In response to the new DOD directives, effective July 2, 2007 , Fort Lee is implementing more restrictive access procedures that will affect non-military personnel who require routine access to the installation. In order to streamline access specifically for our vendors, contractors, sub contractors, and service pro viders, we are also implementing a new standardized entry protocol called the RAPIDGate Program. This program is for all new and existing vendors, contractors and service providers who require routine access to Fort Lee and desire a faster and more effici ent method to access the installation. The RapidGate Program, provided by Eid Passport, Inc. is just one of several steps Fort Lee is undertaking to comply with Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 HSPD-12. The Program is designed to enhance their ability to access Fort Lee under the more restrictive security changes. The RAPIDGate Program will provide a standardized background check, an identification badge and entry procedures that improve security while at the same time significantly speed entr y on the installation. More information will be sent to you, as well as the vendors, contractors, sub contractors and service providers in the upcoming weeks as the RAPIDGate Program is implemented.
