Description
This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation for Commercial Items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6 of the FAR, FAC 2005-16 and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The USCG Engineering Logistics Center has a requirement for the following commercial items: ITEM 1. DISHWASHER LANDING DRESSER, STAINLESS STEEL COMPLETE WITH TOP, LEGS W/STRETCHERS, SHELF AND SEA RAILS TO BE USED ABOARD A U.S. COAST GUARD CUTTER. THE SCULLERY DISHWASHER LANDING DRESSER SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED USING THIS SPECIFICATION AND COAST GUARD DRAWING 210-WMEC-651-002. WHERE THIS SPECIFICATION AND THE DRAWING DIFFER, THIS SPEC SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE. FOR DESIGN PURPOSES THE MAIN DECK OF THE CUTTER HAS BOTH SHEER AND CAMBER. THE DISHWASHER LANDING DRESSER UNIT SHALL BE CAPABLE OF BEING DISASSEMBLED AND REASSEMBLED FOR INSTALLATION ABOARD THE CUTTER. ALL COMPONENT PIECES SHALL BE SMALL ENOUGH IN SIZE TO PASS THROUGH A 26 INCH X 66 INCH OPENING WITH 8 INCH RADIUS CORNERS. THIS DRESSER SHALL BE RECTANGULAR IN SHAPE, WITH OVERALL DIMS OF 74 INCH WIDE X 30 INCH DEEP X 44 INCH HIGH TO TOP OF BACK SPLASH AND CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING COMPONENTS: A TOP, LEGS W/STRETCHERS, A SHELF, AND REMOVABLE SEA RAILS. ALL OF WHICH SHALL BE OF TYPE 304 STAINLESS STEEL WITH A #4 FINISH. THE TOP SHALL BE FURNISHED IN ONE PIECE. HOWEVER, IT MAY BE FABRICATED IN MORE THAN ONE PIECE. IF FABRICATED IN MORE THAN ONE PIECE THE WELDED CONNECTIONS SHALL BE GROUND AND POLISHED TO MATCH THE SURROUNDING AREAS. THE BACK SPLASH SHALL BE 8-INCHES HIGH, LOCATED AT THE BACK AND RIGHT SIDE, AND FABRICATED FROM THE SAME SHEET AS THE TOP. THERE SHALL BE A MINIMUM RADIUS OF 3/4 INCH WHERE THE BACK SPLASH AND THE TOP SURFACE MEET. THE TOP OF THE BACK SPLASHES SHALL BE FLANGED BACK @ 45 DEGREES. THE FRONT EDGE OF THE DRESSER TOP SHALL BE MANUFACTURED WITH A MARINE EDGE TO PREVENT SPILLAGE IN A SEAWAY. THE EDGE SHALL EXTEND UPWARD A MINIMUM OF 3/4 OF AN INCH ABOVE THE SURFACE OF THE TOP AND THEN DOWN 1-1/2 INCHES AND UNDER 1/2 INCH TO FORM A FINISHED APPEARANCE. THE LEFT END OF THE DRESSER TOP SHALL NOT HAVE A MARINE EDGE BUT BE FLANGED TO MATE WITH A HOBART MODEL NO. AM-15 DISHWASHER. ALL COMPONENT PIECES SHALL BE ASSEMBLED BY THE VENDOR FOR PROPER FIT. HOLES FOR THE ATTACHING FASTENERS SHALL THEN BE DRILLED AND THE COMPONENTS SHALL BE BOLTED TOGETHER. AFTER THE VENDOR IS SATISFIED WITH THE FIT, HE MAY THEN, IF HE DESIRES, DISASSEMBLED AND PACKAGE THE COMPONENTS FOR SHIPPING. ALL FASTENERS AND LOOSE PIECES FOR THIS UNIT SHALL BE PACKAGED TOGETHER AND SHIPPED WITH THAT UNIT FOR REASSEMBLY. ALL MATERIALS USED IN CONSTRUCTION SHALL NOT AFFECT THE TASTE OF THE FOOD. STAINLESS STEEL SURFACES EXPOSED TO VIEW SHALL HAVE A NO.4 FINISH PER NATIONAL SANITATION FOUNDATION STANDARDS. ALL VISIBLE STAINLESS STEEL WELDS SHALL BE GROUND AND POLISHED TO A #4 FINISH TO MATCH SURROUNDING AREAS. ALL SHARP AND ROUGH EDGES SHALL BE GROUND SMOOTH TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONNEL. INACCESSIBLE VOIDS SHALL BE MADE VERMIN PROOF. HARDWARE SHALL BE HEAVY DUTY MARINE GRADE OF EITHER CHROME PLATED BRASS/BRONZE OR SATIN STAINLESS STEEL. SEAL ALL CREVICES, LAP JOINTS, SMALL GAPS AND INACCESSIBLE AREAS WITH SILICONE SEALER G E, RTV-108 OR EQUAL. PARTICULAR ATTENTION SHALL BE GIVEN TO SANITARY FEATURES AND THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE U.S. PUBLIC HEALTH SHALL PREVAIL, WHERE APPLICABLE. THE SIZE, CONFIGURATION, ARRANGEMENT AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THIS DRESSER UNIT SHALL ALSO BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH COAST GUARD DRAWING 210 WMEC-651-002. QUANTITY: (1) ONE EACH. ITEM 2. SINK/PRE-WASH DRESSER, STAINLESS STEEL COMPLETE WITH TOP, SINK, SHELF AND LEGS TO BE USED ABOARD A U.S. COAST GUARD CUTTER. A TOP, SINK, LEGS W/STRETCHERS AND A SHELF, ALL OF WHICH SHALL BE OF TYPE 304 STAINLESS STEEL WITH A #4 FINISH. THE TOP SHALL BE FURNISHED IN ONE PIECE. HOWEVER, IT MAY BE FABRICATED IN MORE THAN ONE PIECE. IF FABRICATED IN MORE THAN ONE PIECE THE WELDED CONNECTIONS SHALL BE GROUND AND POLISHED TO MATCH THE SURROUNDING AREAS. THE DIMENSION OF THE SINK SHALL BE 24 INCHES WIDE X 18 INCHES FRONT TO BACK X 12 INCHES DEEP AND FABRICATED OF MIN 12-GAUGE STAINLESS STEEL. THE SINK SHALL HAVE GENEROUS 3/4 INCH RADIUS WHERE THE SIDES OF THE SINK MEET THE BOTTOM AND ONE ANOTHER. THE INTERSECTION WHERE THE SINKS BLENDS INTO THE TOP SHALL HAVE A MIN RADIUS OF 1/4 INCH. THE BOTTOM OF THE SINK SHALL BE SLOPED FOR DRAINAGE AND HAVE A DISHED RECESSED HOLE FOR A 3-1/2 INCH DIAMETER BASKET STRAINER. THE UNDERSIDE OF THE TOP AND SINK SHALL BE TREATED WITH INERT SOUND DEADENING MATERIAL. ALL COMPONENT PIECES SHALL BE ASSEMBLED BY THE VENDOR FOR PROPER FIT. HOLES FOR THE ATTACHING FASTENERS SHALL THEN BE DRILLED AND THE COMPONENTS SHALL BE BOLTED TOGETHER. THE DRAWINGS AS A MINIMUM SHALL INCLUDE ALL THE INFORMATION SPECIFIED ABOVE. THEY SHALL INCLUDE ALL OUTLINE AND KEY DIMENSIONS AND A PARTS LIST OR BILL OF MATERIAL FOR ALL PARTS OR COMPONENTS FURNISHED WITH THE UNIT. THE DRAWINGS MAY BE GENERIC IN NATURE BUT SHALL DEPICT BY NOTE OR OTHER MEANS INFORMATION TO ENSURE THE CONTRACTOR IS MEETING ALL OF THE REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED HEREIN. THE COAST GUARD SHALL REVIEW THE DRAWINGS FOR COMPLIANCY WITH THE SPECIFICATION AND RETURN ONE SET TO THE CONTRACTOR FOR CORRECTION. QUANTITY: (4) FOUR EACH. ITEM 4. FINAL DRAWING REQUIREMENTS: THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH (2) PAPER SETS AND (1) ELECTRONIC SET OF APPROVED AS CORRECTED DRAWINGS. THE ELECTRONIC DRAWINGS SHALL BE IN THE AutoCADTM FORMAT (VERSION 2005). THE FILE MAY BE COPIED TO A 3-1/2 FLOPPY DISK OR IF THE FILE IS LARGER THAN THE 1.44 MB IS SHALL BE COPIED TO A CD-ROM DISK.
