- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is W91WAW-07-R-0048 and is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Fed eral Acquisition Circular 2005-15. This procurement will be unrestricted procurement (NAICS: 721110, size standard $6.5 million). The Deputy Chief Staff Personnel & Logistics has a requirement for a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) for four to eight new rooms per night for family members of wounded Soldiers. Family member stays at the hotel can be anywhere from ten to thirty days before being transferred to military lodging. Any rooms not used by 1800hrs daily will be released back to the hotel without charge to the Government. The length of the contract should be one year with four option years. The Army lodges the family member in the local community outside Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC), Washington, DC and the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) Bethesda, MD when on post lodging is not available. The Casualty and Mortuary Affairs Operations Center is looking for hotels within a five mile radius of WRAMC and the NNMC. Hotels within a five mile radius are close enough to the hospitals so that family members can quickly respond to eminent death notifications, hotels selected must be capable of providing shuttle services to and from the hospitals at least four times a day during visiting hours at the hospital and have access to dining facili ties. This will result in firm fixed price BPA call orders. Award will be made using simplified acquisition procedures.
