Description
The National Data Buoy Center intends to negotiate only with Sutron Corporation of Sterling, Virginia for 16 each SL2-B40W-1 SATLINK II HDR GOES transmitters with 40 watt amplifier. NDBC has requirements to add oceanographic sensors to buoys that will result in data messages that will no longer allow the use of low data rate GOES transmitters. In addition, NDBC meterological data loggers already support the Sutron Satlink II transmitter software interface and will operate with the certified 40 watt Sutron High Data Rate Transmitter without further payload firmware modifications. See numbered notes 1 and 22
