Description
A. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE: The government wishes to identify vendors who can fulfill this requirement for a potential upcoming requirement. A solicitation and award are tentatively planned for May 2007. This is NOT a solicitation for quotes and there is no guarantee, actual or implied, that the government will solicit or award a contract for these items.----- ? B. RESPONSES TO THIS NOTICE: Vendors who can fulfill this requirement and who would be interested in submitting a proposal, in the event that a solicitation is issued, are requested to provide the following information in response to this request -- 1. THE REQUIREMENT ----- LINE ITEM(S): CLIN 0001 Monopole with platform, 33 EACH; CLIN 0001a Commercially Furnished Documentation (i.e., Assembly Instructions, Maintenance Instructions, etc.) for Monopole with platform, 33 EACH; CLIN 0001b Commercial Warranty for Monopole with platform, 33 EACH. NOTE: The Government will reserve the right to order fewer than the total quantity.----- DATE(S) AND PLACE(S) OF DELIVERY: 28 August 2007 -- This is a firm delivery date, FOB Albuquerque, NM 87121 (tentative place of delivery).----- DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS:----- Monopole and Platform ----- The Contractor shall deliver an 80 foot monopole with a 10 ? foot triangular platform meeting the following minimum requirements.----- A. Salient Characteristics 1. Monopole Height:-- 80 feet 2. Structural Configuration:-- 12 sided monopole 3. Wind Load:-- 50 MPH & No Ice (Operational with deflection of no more than 2 inches) 90 MPH & 1/2 inch Ice (Reduction Allowed) 110 MPH & No Ice (Survival) 4. Platform-- Triangular platform with railing. The platform shall be in the shape of an equilateral triangle with each side measuring 10.5 feet. The platform shall be fitted with two (2) rails with the top rail 48 inches above the platform base and the bottom rail approximately equal distant between the base and the top rail or as otherwise specified in applicable standards. 5. Platform Access:-- The platform shall have a 20" X 24" Securable Entry Hatch. 6. Lightning Rod:-- 5/8 inch X 6 feet, capable of orientation on the north vertex of the platform when the pole is installed. 7. Climbing Ladder:-- The monopole shall have a permanently attached ladder capable of orientation on the north side of the monopole when it is installed. (Caution! The monopole and the platform must be aligned during manufacturing, or capable of alignment during assembly, so that both the ladder and the lightning rod can be oriented to the north during installation.) The ladder shall be fitted with a safety cage. The ladder shall start 17 feet above the ground and extend to the top of the pole. 8. Grounding:-- Pole and Platform Shall be capable of being connected to Earth Grounding System 9. Coating:-- All members shall be hot-dip galvanized after fabrication.----- B. Construction and Performance Standards----- 1. The monopole shall be designed according to TIA/EIA-222F Standards.--- 2. Welding shall conform to latest revision of American Welding Society, A.W.S. D1.1-82 Standards.--- 3. Galvanizing shall conform to ASTM A123 Standards.----- NOTE: This requirement specifically does not include monopole installation including: foundations, hookup to local or commercial power sources, earth grounding system, or other requirements necessary for or during installation.
