- Description
- The VISN 6 CAS will issue on or about April 30, 2007, Request for Proposal VA-246-07-RF-0098, Renovate Building 75, West Wing (Design/Build). Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, and qualified supervision necessary to renovate the first floor west areas and 2nd floor west areas of Building No. 75 for use as an administrative office building. The work shall be performed at the VA Medical Center, Salem, Virginia. The HVAC portion of this project shall be designed by the contractor (design/build). The work shall include demolition, floor tile/mastic asbestos abatement, floor preparation for carpet/vinyl composition tile, electrical/plumbing fixture demolition, plaster/drywall partition preparation for paint/multi-spec paint, wood door/hardware replacement, new electrical power circuits, new light fixtures, toilet room improvements, acoustical ceiling demolition/replacement, and HVAC system replacement. Work shall also include architectural finish work on the basement entrance level and mechanical HVAC work in the attic. All work, to include HVAC design and all construction, shall be performed within 240 calendar days of receipt of the Notice to Proceed. A bid bond shall be required. The awardee shall be required to provide both a performance bond and a payment bond in 100% of the award amount. NAICS Code 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with a small business standard of $31M applies. No paper solicitations will be issued. This procurement is 100% set-aside for service-disabled, veteran-owned small business concerns. The estimate for this procurement is between $500,000 - $1,000,000. The date and time of the pre-proposal conference will be published in the solicitation.
