Description
Sources Sought Notice USPS Air Transportation CMC Washington, DC Please be advised that the US Postal Service has contacted selected integrated air cargo airlines who may be interested in providing air transportation service from many origins in the Continental United States, through an integrated hub, to San Juan, PR. A solution meeting the following (minimally) is envisioned: ? USPS will contract with a Certificated US Part 121 Air Carrier . ? Integrated air cargo network approach. ? Carrier must be able to transport parcels exceeding 16 ounces in accordance with TSA regulations ? Estimated Average Weekday volume in pounds: 35,000 ? Desired Frequency of Service: Tuesday through Sunday (X1) We expect that this work will constitute incremental volume and revenue for the successful supplier. Within 90 days of start-up, supplier must initiate bar code scanning of individual mail pieces to include EDI transmission of the data to the Postal Service. US Postal Service personnel screening and security requirements will also apply. The Postal Service is supplying this notice to firms it believes can satisfy the requirements who are known to either currently perform such work domestically, or who have affirmatively expressed interest in the recent past. The Postal Service believes that its market research has already identified a sufficient number of firms to provide for adequate competition; however, if you are interested and are currently performing integrated air cargo through a domestic hub, and if you do or can serve SJU out of that hub, you must, within 5 days, submit a request to be considered for this opportunity. Your request should be directed to: via email: umesh.k.sawhney@usps.gov and to: leslie.a.griffith@usps.gov with a fax copy to: 202-268-0000 Leslie A. (Les) Griffith Manager, Air Transportation CMC
