Description
The Electronic Systems Center (ESC), 951 ELSG/EI, the Engineering and Integration Division on behalf of the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) is conducting market research and as such is requesting information from Industry about standards, techniques and architecture-based design, implementation and stewardship approaches to assist in establishing the necessary information to construct a Statement of Objectives for incorporating a collaborative mission planning capability in the JMPS. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. It is not a Request for Proposal, a Request for Quotation, an Invitation for Bid, a solicitation, or an indication the US Air Force or ESC will contract for the items contained in the RFI. ESC will not pay respondents for information provided in response to this RFI. This RFI is being conducted to determine potential approaches to satisfy collaboration - which is described in four different general scenarios: collaboration among like-aircraft operating in a single mission; dissimilar aircraft performing different functions in a coordinated multi-element package; dissimilar aircraft executing different tasking in close proximity to each other; and lastly, collaboration between tactical planners and higher headquarters with tasking being modified real-time in response to feedback from the aircraft. The following assumptions apply to all scenarios: all workstations participating in collaboration are at the same classification level (cross-domain data-sharing is not an option); and, each operator in a collaborative effort has a network-connected JMPS machine. Technical approaches can range from a new development to a COTS/GOTS product running external to the JMPS framework. For additional technical detail, see the attachment. To arrange for an optional demonstration of technology or techniques that may have a role in achieving a collaboration capability for JMPS, please contact Mr. Mike Giger (SAIC), (781) 266-9341 or Mike.Giger.Ctr@hanscom.af.mil. These demos are optional and will be entirely at the contractor's own expense.
