Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Wyatt Technology Corp., Goleta, CA, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) Soliciting From a Single Source, to activate a service maintenance agreement covering (1) Dawn EOS Multi-Angle Light Scattering Detector and (1) ViscoStar On-Line Differential Viscosity Detector. This is a sole source as only the manufacturers factory-trained and certified engineers have exclusive access to service upgrades and proprietary software updates for the instruments; furthermore, an extensive inventory of authorized parts are immediately available to ensure maximum uptime. A fixed price purchase order will be issued on or about Apr. 27, 2007 for a 1 year period with one 2 1-year option periods. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) nor is it a request for competition.
