- TITLE: Sole Source Acquisition for Mastercam Mill Level III Software, Installation, Maintenance and Training. The 4th Contracting Squadron, Seymour Johnson AFB, NC intends to award a sole source purchase order to Barefoot CNC. Items to be purchased are: CLIN 0001: Manufacturer: Mastercam, Mill Level III Software, installation, Maintenance and training. See below Statment of Work (SOW). STATEMENT OF WORK 1. SCOPE: The work covered by the provisions of this contract consists of furnishing all labor, tools, equipment and supplies necessary to install Mastercam computer aided design software. The contractor is responsible for: a. Providing an estimate (the Government reserves the right to not accept the estimate and stop at this point at no expense). b. Upon notification to proceed, coordinate installation/repair time with authorized Government personnel at the Aircraft Metals Technology section at (919)-722-3165. c. Collecting materials from the authorized Government representative. d. Completing the job in accordance with all federal, state, and local codes. 2. MATERIALS: The computer that the software will be installed on will be provided by the Metals Technology section. 3. LOCATION: This work is to be accomplished at the Aircraft Metals Technology section Building 4534, on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Goldsboro, NC. 4. WORKMANSHIP: All workmanship will comply with standard trade practices. The contractor shall provide all qualified personnel, equipment, and services required to install Mastercam computer aided design software. 5. CLEANUP: The contractor is responsible to return all work sites to the condition in which they were found. 6. MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT: What Mastercam X Maintenance Delivers Major releases are made available to customers with active Maintenance at no additional charge. The software is marked for special handling to help ensure that Maintenance customers receive their software first. Maintenance Releases These include new tools, new options and additions to existing Mastercam features, and are available only to Mastercam Maintenance customers. Two Maintenance Releases are scheduled per year. This means you'll have early access to any brand new features that are pre-released to Maintenance customers and you can download these as soon as they are ready. These features will be available to non-maintenance customers only with the next major release or purchase of a new seat of Mastercam, giving your shop an extra competitive edge. Function-Specific Documentation New and enhanced functions are accompanied by digital documentation to help you get up to speed quickly. Service Packs Service Packs commonly follow a general release, and address functions requiring changes. These will be available to you for download as soon as they are ready. Maintenance notifications will be posted regularly on www.mastercam.com and in the Mastercam Notes Customer Newsletter. For more information, please contact your Mastercam Reseller. You can also find out what is available by using the Mastercam "Live Update" feature in Mastercam X by Selecting "Help" and ?Update Mastercam". Mastercam will check for you and let you know what is available for download. Barefoot CNC Offers: -Fax, phone, email and online support. -Two tech days per month at our office. Service visits: Any services necessary at location will be responded to within one week of notification. 7. TRAINING: The training classes include a tutorial where applicable and are regenitive. All aspects of 3D surface machining (rough & finish) CAD translation and Mold Plus functions. High Speed Machining and machining techniques are discussed as needed. Topics covered include tool and material libraries, 2-1/2 axis (Mill Level 1) machining functions, customization and verification. 8. EMPLOYEES: The contractor shall ensure all employees working on Seymour Johnson Air Force Base possess proper identification and/or citizenship documentation. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), employers may hire only persons who may legally work in the United States (i.e., citizens and nationals of the U.S.) and aliens authorized to work in the U.S. The employer must verify the identity and employment eligibility of anyone to be hired (Ref: U.S. Department of Labor: http://www.dol.gov/compliance/guide/aw.htm#whowhich) This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract lies solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement. The closing date for this synopsis is 18 April 07 at 4:00 P.M.
