- DESCRIPTION: The Social Security Administration intends to negotiate solely with Sterling Commerce America Inc, 12355 Sunrise Valley Drive, Suite 370, Reston, VA 20191 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 6.302-1 ?Soliciting from a Single Source? to establish a 60 month Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract to purchase upgrades and maintenance for software currently owned and installed on Government machines. The software is used for SSA?s eData Services and the Electronic Records Express (ERE) application (formerly known as Electronic Medical Evidence (EME)). The place of performance is SSA headquarters, and at various SSA sites nationwide. The Contract Line Item Cumbers and quantities of the software to be maintained are as follows: CLIN 0001: Connect:Direct for OS/390, QTY: 4 (four)for headquarters; CLIN 0002: Connect:Direct for OS/390 for nationwide QTY: 51 (fifty-one); CLIN 0003 Secure+ for existing Connect:Direct (Unix, NT, (1) Tandum, & (1) VSE) Each license limited to (2) concurrent sessions QTY: (15) Fifteen; CLIN 0004 Secure+ for existing Connect:Direct (Unix, NT, (1) Tandum, & (1) VSE) unlimited sessions QTY: 1 (one); CLIN 0005Secure+ for existing Connect:Direct (Unix, NT, (1) Tandum, & (1) VSE) 10 sessions QTY: 1(one); CLIN 0006 Connect:Direct Windows NT Server licenses with the Secure+ Option QTY: 650 (six hundred fifty); CLIN 0007 Connect:Direct Unix licenses (includes 3 Connect:Direct for AS/400 licenses ) C:D Mid Tier (UNIX/AS400) ? The Sterling software products are used throughout SSA?s computer environment to facilitate user interface, uploading of files, and to easily and securely facilitate the electronic movement of files between customers, SSA and the Disability Determination Services (DDS) offices. Sterling Commerce Amercia is currently providing support services under a contract which is due to expire June 2007. The Sterling Commerce America, Incorporated is the only known source capable of satisfying SSA?s requirements. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bonafide capability to fulfill this requirement. A solicitation is NOT available. Therefore, written and/or verbal requests for copies of a solicitation related to this announcement will not be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
