- Description
- The U.S. Army National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) is seeking industry sources for cost effective solutions for digitizing hardcopy files. The NGIC anticipates a multi-year phased award initiated by a pilot project to digitize 500,000 to 1,000, 000 pages, with potential follow-on efforts to fully digitize over 35,000,000 holdings. All interested vendors will be required to have personnel possessing TOP SECRET security clearances, in order to access the NGIC facility and user networks. In addition , the vendor will be required to maintain offices in the immediate vicinity of the NGIC in Charlottesville, Virginia. The NGIC is seeking recommendations for best and most cost effective solutions. The decision to execute follow-on efforts will be based on the proven return on investment of the pilot project. Content to be digitized consists of bound technical manuals, brochures, photographs, etc. The proposed solution must balance high speed with low cost per page. A capability for indexing and searching against digitized results is required. Responses should clearly indicate hardware and software requirements, staffing projections, estimated schedules, and costs for both a pilot and a full implementation. A solicitation may be issued to all firms that are found responsive to the requirements of this synopsis. All requests from responsive vendors will be fully considered.
