- Services consist of translating and editing US Army Field Manuals and Joint publications from English into Standard Modern Arabic, Dari, Farsi, Pashtu, Transall French African, Mandarin Chinese or Russian. Once translated according to specifications, the vendor will proofread and edit translated documents before typesetting it into a print ready format such as a high resolution PDF. Documents needing translating contain a large quantity of moderate to complex military terminology therefore vendors tha t have proven experience in this type of vernacular will be highly considered. The average page count of these documents is approximately 300 to 600 pages but vary widely. Current yearly need is anticipated to be from zero to 20 documents. The documents ma y include various chapters as well as a glossary, bibliography, index and at times specific visual art work. Performance period will be base year and one option year. Solicitation documents will be made available for downloading from FedBizOpps at www.fed bizopps.gov on or about 25 APR 2007. No telephone requests shall be considered. Bidders must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (www.ccr.gov) to be eligible for award.
