Description
This is a notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source contract for service under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to sponsor the attendance of 18 participants to attend Basic Forensic Investigations of Microsoft Based Network Training course to be provided by the Paraben Corporation, P.O. Box Orem, UT 84097-0483. The Computer Analysis Response Team (CART) is responsible for the acquisition, examination & presentation of all computer generated digital evidence. To meet CART requirements, students in this class will use common techniques to find owners of a domain, the global DNS settings and examine several types of servers. Students will examine network connections between the ILs, SharePoint and SQL servers, examine easy website code, trace inbound and outbound connections from the firewall, discover how the Terminal Server is being used, and examine a Microsoft Exchange Box. To meet this requirement, the training vendor shall provide this training as vendor-independent, without limiting the training to the vendor?s tools only. Participation in the Paraben Microsoft Based Networks course is being procured under FAR 13.5, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Training is to be held in Kansas City, Missouri on May 21-25, 2007. The above named vendor is believed to be the only source for this training. This Notice of Intent is NOT a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes. Interested parties may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform this effort in writing (electronically) to Debra E. Chapman at dchapman@fbiacademy.edu by Monday, April 16, 2007 at 3:00 PM EST. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. In order to be considered for award an offeror must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration Database.
