Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is being issued as a Request for Quotes under the number RFQ-41302-022-7. This solicitation document, incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 05-16. This action is a Total Small Business Set Aside. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code is 238220 - "Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors (Exhaust system installation / Fire protection system installation)? and the Small Business Size Standard is $13.0 Million. [***Contact Ryan Lambeau, Supervisory Contract Specialist, at RLambeau@bop.gov or (320) 245-6205, if interested in bidding, to request copies of the kitchen setup CAD drawing & kitchen equipment cut sheets / spec sheets***] GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Correctional Institution, Sandstone, Minnesota, is requesting quotes for an ?Exhaust Hood, Exhaust Vent, Fire Protection, and Makeup Air System? for its Culinary Arts kitchen as outlined in this solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. SCHEDULE OF ITEMS & SPECIFICATIONS: General Information: The Federal Correctional Institution, Sandstone, Minnesota, is constructing a Culinary Arts kitchen. The kitchen will utilize a number of pieces of kitchen equipment. An exhaust hood, exhaust vent, fire protection, and makeup air system is needed to service the equipment. This solicitation seeks quotes to provide all materials and labor to fabricate and install the exhaust hood, exhaust vent, fire protection, and makeup air systems needed.. ITEM 1: EXHAUST HOOD - Contractor will provide and install a powered stainless steel exhaust hood system servicing equipment identified on the drawing and described in the equipment cut sheets. Exhaust hood will be constructed to provide ventilation and the existing kitchen equipment will be set and connected to meet NSF and NFPA guidelines. Exhaust fans will be mounted on, and hood will exhaust through, the wall adjacent to the equipment area. Contractor will be responsible for all aspects of hood and equipment installation, including cutting necessary wall openings, installing power to equipment, setting fans and controls, and balancing hood airflow. FCI Sandstone will provide 110/208V power and panel inside the kitchen area within 20 feet of the hood structure. ITEM 2: EXHAUST VENT - Contractor will provide a powered stainless steel exhaust vent servicing the dish machine located as identified on the drawing and described in the equipment cut sheets. Cent will be constructed to provide ventilation, and equipment will be set and connected to meet NSF and NFPA guidelines. Exhaust fans will be mounted on, and vent will exhaust through, the wall adjacent to the equipment area. Contractor will be responsible for all aspects of vent and equipment installation, including cutting necessary wall openings, installing power to equipment, setting fans and controls, and balancing hood airflow. FCI Sandstone will provide 110/208V power and panel inside the kitchen area and within 20 feet of the vent structure. ITEM 3: FIRE PROTECTION - Contractor will provide and install a hood mounted dry chemical system servicing the equipment identified as needing protection (deep fryer, tilt skillet, grill) on the drawing and described in the equipment cut sheets. System will be constructed to provide protection to meet NSF and NFPA guidelines. Hood vents will shut down in the event of a system trip. Contractor will provide a set of normally open and a set of normally closed 110V relay contacts for FCI Sandstone to utilize in connecting system to existing fire safety elements such as strobes, HVAC system shutoffs, etc. ITEM 4: MAKEUP AIR - Contractor will provide a gas fired makeup air system to provide tempered air to kitchen area. Gas service will be provided by FCI Sandstone within the kitchen area. System will be constructed to provide ventilation and equipment will be set and connected to meet ASHRAE and NFPA guidelines. System can be roof, wall, or pad mounted. Contractor will be responsible for all aspects of system and equipment installation, including necessary wall openings, installing power to equipment, setting fans and controls, and balancing vent airflow. FCI Sandstone will provide 110/208V power and panel inside the kitchen area within 20 feet of the makeup air device. SITE ACCESS - Site is available from 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday - Friday, with the exception of Federal holidays. In the event of an institution emergency, contractor access to the site may be terminated until the emergency is over. SITE VISIT - It is recommended, but not required, that interested bidders visit the area where work is to be completed, in order to have any questions answered prior to submitting a quote. A site visit will be available on Thursday, 04/26/07 starting at 9:30am.
