- The Add on Armor Crew Protection Kit is intended to provide complete operator protection against direct small arms fire and improvised explosive devices (IED) that does not inhibit the operation or effectiveness of the vehicle system. The contractor will a new cab fully armored, as well as changes necessary for the vehicle to support additional weight and in-cab environmental controls as necessary to meet the soldiers needs. The contractor will produce the required test coupons and two prototype up- armored cabs for ballistic testing and automotive testing. The contractor will also support Government tests. Note 22.
