- Description
- The General Services Administration (GSA) has been accepted by Xcel Energy of Colorado to participate in their Solar Rewards Program. This acquisition is to provide a solar photovoltaic (PV) facility on approximately 6.5 acres at the Denver Federal Center, Lakewood, Colorado. This facility will develop approximately 1 Megawatt of power. The solar technology will need to be designed and installed to meet the requirements of the Xcel Solar Rewards Program and GSA's requirements. The facility shall be designed to resist appropriate wind requirements for this site through the engineering of its frame and foundation design. An inverter will be required to be designed and sized to feed the energy into the existing electrical grid at the Denver Federal Center. Commitments to design, size, procure PV modules, and install are required. Project schedule will require the facility to be operational by December 2007. Industry standard 20 year warranties and other component warranties will be required. Monitoring and verification that facility meets requirements of Xcel and GSA will be a requirement of the procurement. GSA anticipates an award which will result in the greatest overall value to the Government. The NAICS Code is 334413, Solar Cells Manufacturer - Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Facility. The request for proposal shall be issued on or about April 18, 2007, site visit on or about April 27, 2007, with a proposal due date of on or about May 09, 2007. This acquisition is full and open competition whereby large businesses are encouraged to participate. A request for exception to The Buy American Act - Supplies has been granted.
