- Sources Sought - The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Portland, Oregon, has a requirement to obtain anywhere from 8 to possibly 13 plastic pilings for the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge in Washington. Only known source currently is Plastic Pilings, Inc of Rialto CA. The pilings are recycled plastic using a polyethylene plastic formulation with U.V. inhibitor. Outside diameter is 13.25 inches with an 8-inch diameter, Schedule 80 ASTM A53-90A-Gr.B steel pipe core. The pilings are 40-feet long which includes a 10-ft pipe stinger. (In other words, the plastic coating on the steel pipe core covers 30 feet of the piling; the pipe core extends another 10 feet). Each piling will have a steel drive tip that attaches to the stinger. One drive helmet is provided to protect the piling while it is being driven. Should no responses be received against this sources sought notice by April 6, 2007, this synopsis action will be considered the notice of intent to procure subject requirements by other than full and open competition IAW FAR 6.302-1 and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1).
