- SUBJECT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE MODIFICATION DESC: It is the Government's intent to award a modification to Capitol IT Solutions, 13907 Carlson Farm Drive, Germantown, MD 20874, as small business, for the purchase of services, support, onsite/local he lp desk and technical support, network operations and other infrastructure services, maintenance, and support to the TATRC field office located in Fort Detrick, MD. This is a modification that will require from the outset, and at all times during the perfo rmance term, 2 System Engineers that are fully qualified personnel with experience to provide the full range of help desk network operations and other (technical research, development, testing and evaluation, as directed). This also included leasing of a s erver and support. The current TATRC staff member would not be able to perform thier assigned tasks without the services and support this contract offers. In addition, the delay to get a new contractor on board and equipment leaded will have an adverse imp act on operations at TATRC East Coast office. In essence, TATRC staff members will have to stop work until new servers could be ordered. Also, trying to get a new contractor to provide another set of leased equipment to take the place of the current equipm ent would be more expensive then awarding this contract to Capitol IT Solutions. Within the next couple of months, a new requirement will be coming out for competition to cover these services. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Prop osal. No solicitation document is available and telephone request will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on basis of offeres received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advatageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the service will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed modification based on this notice is soley within th e discretion of the Government.
