- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing this Sources Sought Announcement to determine the interest and capability of 8(a), HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, and Small Business concerns. The following is a description of the project: 17 acres (estimated) of the flood tidal shoal of Ninigret Pond in Charlestown, RI will be dredged to a depth of about 0.75 meters (2.5 feet) below MLW. This will require the removal of about 40,000 cubic yards (cy) of dense sand. The mate rial will be removed by hydraulic means and be pumped directly, via pipeline, to the nearby Charlestown Town Beach for disposal. Dredging will take place in very shallow conditions. The dredged material will be deposited in the intertidal zone of the bea ch and be shaped by wave action. The estimated cost of this work is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Work will take place between November 2007 and March 2008. Interested contractors should submit a capabilities package to include the following: busines s classification size (e.g. 8(a), HUBZone, etc.), projects similar to the work described above, and a list of equipment. Responses should be limited to five pages. This is not a request to be placed on a solicitation mailing list nor is it a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an announcement of a solicitation. Responses are required no later than 16 April 2007. Responses should be addressed to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District, 696 Virginia Road, Concord, MA 01742-2751, ATTN: David Dilks (CT-C). Firms interested shall provide the above documentation in one original form and one copy. The government will not pay for any material provided in response to this market survey nor return the data provided. The results of this survey will be c onsidered to be in effect for a period of one year from the date of this notice.
