Description
The U. S. Army- Joint Munitions & Lethality, Life Cylce Management Command at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ, is currently seeking qualified sources to manufacture single-base PAP7993 propellant. The 155mm Modular Artillery Charge System (MACS) comprises two propelling charges: the M231 charges for zones one and two, and the M232A1 charges for zones three or higher. The PAP7993 is the 7- perforated cylindrical granular single-base propellant for the M231 propelling charge. The PAP7993 propellant has a FY 08 basic requirement with option for the basic year and an FY09 option year. The first production lot is due NLT 180 days after award of contract which is anticipated to be in FY08. A lot of PAP7993 propellant consists of approximately 417K lbs. Subsequent lots are due every 45 days. The PAP7993 propellant shall be 7-perforated cylindrical granular. The web size shall be between 0.018 and 0.025 inches. The absolute density shall be between 1.5 and 1.8 g/cc. The exact web sizes and the target charge weight will be provided after the contract award. Deliverables shall be as follows: _ FY08 Basic = approximately 800,000 lbs _ FY08 Basic year???s option = approximately 600,000 lbs _ FY09 Option year = approximately 1.9M lbs The contractor should have applicable experience in efforts of similar production quantities as shown in delivery schedule and large storage capacity as well as meet ballistic requirements of the M231 ballistic firing tables. Firms with experience in the areas cited above should submit literature /brochures not exceeding 20 pages describing a summary of their company capability including a description of facility, personnel and past experience to meet the government???s requirements.
