- Description
- The Government has a requirement for maintenance and repair services for two railroad-crossing gates onboard the Naval Submarine Base New London, Groton, CT. The contractor shall provide all labor, material, equipment, supervision, and management to perform monthly inspections/testing, preventive maintenance, associated repairs, and reporting to ensure the continued safe and proper operation of crossing gates. The solicitation will be issued as a firm fixed price contract for a 12 month base period with four 12-month option periods to be exercised by the Government if found to be in its best interests, without further notice. The proposed contract will also include five 12-month award-options for ?very good? or ?outstanding? performance ratings. The solicitation will contain FAR Clause 52.217-8, Option to Extend Services. The NAICS is 488210. The Small Business Size Standard is $6,500,000. It is the Government?s intention to award the contract on a sole source basis to Providence and Worcester Railroad Company, in accordance with an existing easement agreement between the Railroad and the Government, and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1.
