Description

The U. S. Geological Survey, Middleton, WI 53562I intends to make award on a sole source basis, to IBM, Bethesda, MD to purchase 1 BladeCenter Model HC1 blade server chassis. The server chassis is required to help reduce the need for additional space, electrical power, and cooling capacity in the Middleton Data Center to support expanding the computing capacity therein. USGS has determined that no other sources can meet the requirements for integration into the existing IBM server framework. There is no written solicitation for this requirement. This award will be made on or about April 2, 2007 under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000.00. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 334119. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. No additional synopsis will be published.
