Description

The National Park Service (NPS), Harpers Ferry Center (HFC), Office of Media Assets, is soliciting proposals for up to five on-site Librarian/Archivists. The Office of Media Assets administers the NPS History Collection which includes the Historic Photo Collection, archives, historical materials, as well as the HFC library which documents the history of the NPS and serves the entire NPS system. Services will include surveying, arranging, preserving, describing, and providing reference services to the Historic Photo collection, responding to requests for photos from the Historic Photo Collection, providing access for using the photographic collections, interpreting the collections to staff and public, maintaining comprehensive records on loans, and research use of the collections. Services will also include cataloging, organization, and access to the library collections, inter-library loans, and subscription services. Work shall be performed on-site at the Anthony Library located in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and at the Willow Springs facility located in Charles Town, West Virginia. IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR CONSIDERATION, A MASTER OF LIBRARY SCIENCE DEGREE IS REQUIRED. The Government anticipates award of up to five on-site contracts on or before June 11, 2007. The contract term is one-year period with priced options for four additional years of continued performance. Contract hours are negotiable depending on the proposals received. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the Department of the Interior's National Business Center (NBC) Website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov on or around April 16, 2007. Paper copies of this solicitation will not be made available. NAICS CODE IS 541990, ALL OTHER PROFESSIONAL, SCIENTIFIC, AND TECHNICAL SERVICES, SIZE STANDARD OF $6.0 MILLION AVERAGE ANNUAL RECEIPTS FOR AN OFFEROR'S PRECEEDING THREE FISCAL YEARS.
