Description
*****The Issue Date of the Solicitation has been extended to on or about April 04, 2007.***** The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is soliciting prospective contractors for the Renovation of Existing Laboratories in Building No. 5, U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center, Natick, MA. The work of this project consists of renovations to th e Textile Laboratory, Building 5, at the U.S. Army Soldier Systems Center in Natick, Massachusetts. The project is composed of both base bid and optional w ork. Base bid work includes selective demolition of interior building elements and the constr uction of two new laboratory rooms, each 400 square feet (SF) in area, new office space, a new mechanical room, and a new laundry room. Optional work includes the construction of two new equipment rooms, one 400 SF in area to house weatherometer equipment , and the other 1,200 SF in area to house a steam press, centrifuge, and other equipment, and the furnishment of a water purification system. All new construction is within the existing footprint of Building 5. Specific demolition work tasks involve remova l of existing plumbing, electrical, ductwork, and interior architectural items. New construction work tasks involve building interior drywall-type partition wall s, installing new electrical and plumbing systems, erecting new suspended ceiling systems, modi f ication of the existing fire protection sprinkler system, providing new laboratory casework and fume hood, and painting and other related finish work. Additio nal work involves relocating existing Building 5 equipment to and within the newly constructed ar eas. This equipment includes washing machines, dryers, weatherometers, cabinets, ovens, and other related items. The NAICS code for this Procurement is 236220 , with a Size Standard of $31 million. This solicitation is restricted to HUBZone small business c oncerns. The estimated issue date for this procurement is on or about April 04, 2007. Prospective contractors and subcontractors are required to self-registe r their firm or office on the Internet to receive the solicitation.
