- Description
- The Contractor shall provide TRIDENT II (D5) Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System (FCS) Operational Support; Selected Shipboard Systems Repair; MK98 Mod 6/7 and Mod 8/9 FCS Development, Production and Installation; FCS Support during Engineered Refueling Overhauls; FCS/Attack Weapons Control System (AWCS) Training Support; FCS/AWCS Auxiliary Systems Technology Refresh, and FCS Modifications for Conventional TRIDENT Modification; as well as AWCS upgrades and operational support. Negotiations will be conducted with General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems (GDAIS), Pittsfield, MA. GDAIS is the sole manufacturer of the TRIDENT II (D5) Strategic Weapon System (SWS) Fire Control System and Attack Weapons Control System and the only source with the in-depth knowledge, expertise, and in-place capability to perform the required effort.
