- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIRSYSCOM) Headquarters intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price, contract modification under contract N00019-05-C-0044 with Harris Corporation, Melbourne, Florida, to procure a three month trade study to identify the possible approaches for incorporation of Tactical Aircraft Moving Map Capability (TAMMAC) Digital Map Computer (DMC) & Digital Video Map Computer (DVMC) functionality into a Single Card Moving Map. The study will outline the approaches to achieving single card map functionality while leveraging the significant investment that the Navy has made in the DMC/DVMC. Harris is the sole designer, developer and manufacturer of the TAMMAC DMC & DVMC and is therefore the only known source with the necessary knowledge, data, and experience to provide information regarding the details of implementing DMC/DVMC capability into a single card moving map. In addition, Harris is the only known source that understands the integrated design and requirements of the avionics units Weapons Replaceable Assemblies (WRAs) within current TAMMAC platforms such as F/A-18, AV-8B, AH-1Z and UH-1Y and to be able to provide this information within the specified timeframe while leveraging knowledge of the existing DMC/DVMC to reduce cost.
