- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This announcement constitutes a Source Sought Synopsis. This is not a Request for Proposal and will be used to identify SBA Certified 8(a) and/or HubZone and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Small business firms for the purpose of determining how the solicitation will be advertised. We are seeking SBA Certified 8(a) Firms certified in the Small Business Administration Region IV, which includes the States of Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Geo rgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida. Also, we are seeking HubZone and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned Firms nationwide. This sources sought announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Gove rnment, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The Jacksonville District of the US Army Corps of Engineers is planning work that includes construction of a seepage berm and stone drain on the land side of Herbert Hoover Dike in reaches described by task orders to this upcoming IDIQ construction contract. Task orders may be issued for reaches along the east and south shores of Lake Okeechobee (Reach 1, 2 and 3) from St. Lucie Canal at Port Mayaca southward to South Bay, then west ward to the Caloosahatchee River at Moore Haven. The work is in Martin, Palm Beach, Hendry and Glades Counties, Florida. The Magnitude of Construction is between $10,000,000 and $25,000,000. Please provide a Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your sk ills, experience, and knowledge required to perform the specified type of work. This SOC should be a brief description of your companys capabilities. The contractors should provide brief references of jobs they have performed and the magnitude of construc tion. Also, interested contractors must include bonding information (on the bonding company letterhead) that the company has the capability of receiving bonding up to $25 million. If we do not receive an adequate number of qualified respondents (i.e., two or more responsible firms), the solicitation shall be issued on an unrestricted basis and all firms regardless of size shall be eligible and encouraged to compete for this project. REMEMBER: DO NOT REGISTER AS A PLAN HOLDER AT THIS TIME. THE FINAL PLANS A ND SPECIFICATIONS WILL CARRY A DIFFERENT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER AND REGISTRATION WILL BE REQUIRED AT THAT TIME. Receipt of potential offerors SOC shall be no later than fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of this notice by 4:00 pm.
