Description
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Program Managers Office  Special Operations Forces Survival Systems (PMO-SSS) is requesting information regarding the manufacture of tactical releasable body armor carriers. Information reques ted includes vendor capabilities and limitations with regard to the production of tactical releasable body armor carriers, to include material capabilities, place of manufacture, source of materials, proven production capacity and surge rate, as well as al l known interoperability issues with all equipment currently used by Special Operations Forces (SOF). Additionally, information regarding vendors products currently in production is also requested. Hindrance of the operators mobility and range of motio n due to the carrier will be minimal. Carriers must be compatible with the following equipment: Special Operations Forces personal Equipment Advanced Requirements (SPEAR) soft armor inserts, SPEAR ballistic plates, SPEAR Modular Supplemental Armor Protect ion (MSAP), and SPEAR Load Carriage System (LCS) components. If systems are not confirmed on any of these platforms, the government requests that the vendor identify the shortfall. Any feedback on the contents of the proposed equipment are encouraged. This market survey is for information and planning purposes only, does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. The Government implies no intention or opportunity to acquire funding t o support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or ob ligation to the Government and is for informational purposes only. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted.
