Description
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command Washington, 1314 Harwood Street Bldg 212, Washington Navy Yard has a requirement for a Technical Safety Expert to provide professional and technical services in support of construction and general industry safety and occupational health surveys. In addition to performing inspections at military installations, will also be responsible for populating the Navy Safety database, recommending measures to eliminate or control hazardous practices and conditions which may cause mishaps and prepare supplemental written safety procedures for application to local organizational components. The North American Industry Classification System (NIACS) code for this project is 541690. The type of contract anticipated is Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Indefinite Deivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with a base year and four (4) one-year option periods. The Government estimates that the technical expertise required will be approximately 800 hours per year. Applicable labor category may be a safety professional or any other proposed labor category with the technical expertise and experience required. Place of performance will be at various location in and around the Washington Navy Yard (Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia). This acquisition is set-aside for Small Business. Anticipated award date is 01 June 2007. Contract award will be made to the responsible offeror whose offer/proposal is compliant with the solicitation and is determined to be best value to the government, with technical, price, and other factors considered.
