- Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures the U.S. Army RDECOM - Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the USS OCOM, intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source basis with Aearo Company I ( Aearo ), 5457 W 79th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46268-1675. This effort is to provide the Government with 15 MBITR headsets, and 15 COMTAC II neckbands, adapt ers and headbands. Aearo had previously responded to an open market survey request. Subsequent to a review of the Aearo submission, the USSOCOM has decided to further test the capabilities of these headset systems. Since the testing and evaluation to be performed is specifi c to the Aearo system, Aearo is the only available source. Therefore the contract will be awarded to Aearo.
