- ADVERTISEMENT FOR PREQUALIFICATION Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, responses to the University's prequalification documents for a Lump Sum construction Subcontract are sought for the following project: B71 UPGRADE RM. 146 INFRASTRUCTURE FOR LASER LAB Project RFP Number 922 To be performed at Ernest Orlando Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory One Cyclotron Road Berkeley, CA 94720 Prequalification of Prospective Bidders: The University has determined that bidders who submit bids on this project must be prequalified. Prequalified bidders will be required to have a valid California contractor's license appropriate for the type of work involved. General Description of Work: Provide all labor, material, tools and equipment to complete all work as described in the plans and specifications. The scope of work includes: The Building 71 Upgrade Rm. 146 Infrastructure for Laser Lab Project will upgrade areas within LBNL Building 71 including the creation of a new 36-inch thick concrete shielding enclosure inside of an existing building to accommodate two new beamlines, to enable the installation of equipment used by the LOASIS (Laser Optics and Accelerator Systems Integrated Studies) Program in order to conduct high-energy physics experiments. The project will include the installation of a new AHU unit, the replacement of an existing cooling tower and chiller, and associated electrical, mechanical, plumbing and architectural upgrades. Estimated Price Range and Construction Period: The estimated price range for this project is between $1.2M and $1.5M. The construction period is up to 135 calendar days.
