Description
BEA has developed a High Temperature Irradiation Resistant thermocouple (HTIR-TC) that is a breakthrough in the field of high temperature measurement; overcoming the two most critical thermocouple issues plaguing high-temperature operations?signal drift and instrument longevity. Its accurate measurement of temperatures between 1100 and 1700?C is important to safe, efficient and economical operations and BEA?s HTIR-RC is specifically designed for operating reliably in high-temperature radiation environments. Its benefits include: 1) safety and efficient use in high-temperature manufacturing processes, 2) durable and reliable at high temperatures, up to at least 1700?C , 3) resistant to irradiation in nuclear power reactors, 4) moderately priced, 5) easily installed and 6) available in a variety of configurations. For more technical information on the HTIR-TC please access: http://www.inl.gov/factsheets/docs/htir.pdf A short video of this R&D 100 Award candidate is also available on www.inl.gov Contact Mr. Gary W. Smith. A potential licensing opportunity exists with BEA, the prime operating contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). BEA is seeking industrial partners interested in entering into a non-exclusive license agreement for the purpose of commercializing the technology described below. This is not an opportunity to provide goods or services to BEA or DOE. Parties interested in obtaining additional information should send their request to: Gary W. Smith Sr. Account Executive Technology Transfer and Commercialization Battelle Energy Alliance, LLC P. O. Box 1625, MS3805 Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3805 gary.smith@inl.gov
