- Description
- The Crater and Upper Trout Creek Restoration project consists of logging, transporting, and placing trees in Crater and Upper Trout Creek. The trees will be used to form in-stream log complexes to increase fish habitat. This contract is Phase II of the helicopter services for the purpose of yarding logs and logs with attached rootwads from landings to adjacent streams and place logs within or along stream courses at locations and orientations specified by the Forest Service. Work sites are on the Mt. Adams Ranger District, Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This solicitation, and any resulting contract, is for Phase II, the helicopter lift of approximately 470-500 logs from 1 landing to17 designated locations on the ground in Crater and Upper Trout Creek. In Phase I, trees will be acquired by thinning and will be skidded to the designated landing. In Phase II, a helicopter will lift the trees from the landing to 17 marked sites along Crater and Upper Trout Creek. In Phase III, the trees will be placed and anchored to create in-stream log complexes. Site Visit Offerors are urged and expected to inspect the site where the work will be performed. Offers will be evaluated on: price; experience; and past performance. Contract award will be to the offeror whose offer, conforming to the solicitation, is the best value to the Government. Solicitation will be issued on or about March 28, 20o7. This procurement is set-aside for small businesses. The estimated start work date is July, 2007. Service Contract Wage Determination Rates apply to this solicitation and any resulting contract. In accordance with FAR 4.1102(a), prospective contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database prior to award of a contract. Lack of registration in the CCR on the part of the offeror will render an offeror ineligible for award.
