- NASA/HQ is seeking small business firms capable of providing interpretation, translation, visa processing and logistical support services. Based on a review of industry to this Sources Sought Synopsis, the Government will decide whether it is appropriate to offer this requirement as a competitive small business set-aside. These services include, but are not limited to, the following: (1) Oral interpretation and written translations of official and technical/scientific/engineering documents; (2) language translation (verbal & written) of many countries; i.e., Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Brazil, India, Israel, China, Indian, Korea, Portugal, etc.; (3) Visa processing for Former Soviet States; (4) Process letters of invitation required to support official travel to countries including drafting letters, completing appropriate documentation, database entry and communicating process and status with client; (5) Logistical and administrative support services including ground transportation for NASA delegations to NASA facilities and conferences in the United States; (6) Overseas logistical and administrative support services, and ground transportation for NASA delegations traveling abroad as well as support to overseas reps in arranging delegations, meetings and conferences; (7) Conversion of foreign currency and metric measurements to the US currency and measurement system and US to foreign systems; and (8) Instantaneous telephone interpretation services. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) Code is 561990 with a size standard of $6.5M. It is requested that interested small business firms submit a brief capabilities statement package (10 pages or less) to include prior/current corporate experience in performing efforts of relevant scope (translations, processing of VISA applications, processing letters of invitation, domestic & overseas logistical and administrative support services, conversion of foreign currency and instantaneous telephone interpretation services). For each reference, the following shall be included: (a) contract number; (b) contract value; (c) Government point of contact and CURRENT telephone number; and (d) brief description of how the contract referenced relates to this requirement. The capability statement package shall be sent via email to: Sandra.R.Grello@nasa.gov. Packages are to be received by 3PM EST on March 30, 2007. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Services. It is the potential offer's responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received for potential sources as a result of this synopsis. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited.
