Description
The Pacific Northwest Region, Bureau of Reclamation, 1150 N Curtis Rd, Boise, ID 83706-1234 (Reclamation), acting as the business agent for Centennial Job Corps Center, 3201 Ridgecrest Drive, Nampa, ID 83687-8399 (the Center), plans to issue a solicitation seeking time and material proposals for mechanical work to be performed under the direction of a designated Government representative at the Center. The solicitation will be issued on or about April 3, 2007, under FAR Part 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures) and Sub-Part 19.10 (Small Business Competiveness Demonstration Program). Reclamation anticipates holding an organized site visit on or about April 10, 2007. The magnitude of the work is expected to be between $25,000 and $100,000. The NAICS code for this requirement is 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors) and the size standard is $12.0 million. The required work is composed of the following three areas. Cooling Tower: Remove the existing 8" vertical strainer and 12 LF of 8" piping from the pump to the cooling tower connection. Furnish and install two 8" V-strainers in the horizontal position with one unit in the 8" main condenser water line and the second unit in an 8" bypass line for system maintenance. Furnish and Install 8" isolation valves on each side of the strainers with pressure and temperature gages at the pump suction and discharge. In addition to the strainers and valves, furnish and install approximately 24 LF of 8" steel piping and fittings to match existing connections. Water Softeners for Men's and Women's Dormitories: In each dormitory furnish and install a 160 GPM continuous (230 GPM peak) water softener system for the building water supply. Install an electric power supply using a 20A GFCI receptacle energized and connected to a 20A, 1-pole circuit breaker in the existing panel. Installation will require boring through existing 8" cinder block wall and tying into the existing water supply located in the outside mechanical room. Water Heaters for Women's Dormitory: Remove the existing hot water heaters. Furnish and install 2 new 970 MBH gas-fired hot water heaters in the mechanical rooms serving Wings A & B and C & D. Extend and reconnect the existing gas line, the water lines, and the controls electrical connection. For each water heater, reconnect the associated appurtenances including the existing expansion tank, storage tank, and the hot water circulation pump.
