- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will NOT be issued. The purchase request number is M6789807RCG8473 . The solicitation incorporates provisions and clauses as those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-15. This procurement is unrestricted. The North American Industry Classification System code (NAICS) is 334112, Computer Storage Device Manufacturing, the size standard of which is 1,000 employees (Not to exceed). DESCRIPTION: 4 GB Module for Dell Power Edge 1850 -2R. REQUIREMENTS: (32 each) BRAND NAME ONLY. No or equals will be accepted. Also your quote must list your DUNS number, CAGE code, and Federal TIN. If you need to obtain or renew a DUNS number or CAGE code, please visit www.ccr.gov. DELIVERY ADDRESS: Item is to be procured on behalf of United States Marine Corps, 7115 S. Boundary Blvd., MacDill AFB (Tampa), FL 33621. PROVISIONS/CLAUSES: The following FAR and DFARS provisions and clauses apply: 52.212-1, Instruction to Offerors-Commercial. DEMONSTRATION THAT THE CONTRACTOR?S UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OR NATURE OF THE ACQUISITION REQUIRES THE USE OF THE AUTHORITY CITED ABOVE (APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY) MARCENT was provided Dell Server 1850 platforms by MarCorSysCom and the MCNOSC which were centrally procured as the part of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network (MCEN) Forest Consolidation and Hardware refresh during 2006. Dell servers will accept memory devices from other manufacturers, but Dell will not work on the system while the third party hardware is installed in the server. If an issue arises for which MARCENT G-6 has to contact Dell for warranty service, Dell will instruct them to remove ?all? third party hardware before continuing. Furthermore, if any damage is caused by the third party hardware, Dell can and may refuse warranty service on either the portion damaged or the entire server platform thus requiring additional warranty or hardware be re-purchased to cover losses. The third party memory will require a separate warranty be tracked specifically for the memory chips provided by that manufacturer adding unneeded complexity to the server platform administrators. By purchasing Dell memory the current warranty for these platforms will remain in effect. In order to keep current operations going at MARCENT and reduce the risk of warranty violations, it is requested that Dell 4 GB module for Power Edge 1850 server be purchase.
